Pope Leo XIV’s calls for intercession for peace continue. At the end of the General Audience yesterday, the 24th, the Holy Father asked all the faithful to pray the Rosary for peace during the month of October – traditionally dedicated to the recitation of the Rosary.
“Dear brothers and sisters, the month of October, now approaching, is dedicated in the Church to the holy Rosary. Therefore, I invite everyone, each day of the coming month, to recite the Rosary for peace — personally, in the family, and in the community.”
He also extended the invitation to pray the Rosary with him on October 11, at 6 p.m., in St. Peter’s Square, during the Vigil of the Jubilee of Marian Spirituality, also recalling the anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council.
This is not the first time since taking the Chair of Peter that Leo XIV has called on the faithful to intercede for world peace. In almost five months of his pontificate, he has made this appeal about four times. Recently, on August 20, he invited the entire Church to observe a day of fasting and prayer for peace, especially for regions at war: Ukraine, the Middle East, and others.
